Bio:
DJ/Producer Zachary Stowasser has been involved with electronic
music for over 8 years. Zachary has headlined over 100 local and
regional events on the central coast of California. Zachary also
has warmed up for talents such as Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, and Christopher
Lawrence. After almost 8 years of using vinyl, Zachary has re-discovered
his passion for DJing using a laptop, mixer, midi controllers
and Ableton Live Software. This new setup allows Zachary to keep
the vibe vibrating by mixing four or more songs together for as
long as he wants! Live looping, re-edits, remixing, samples and
effects truly blurr the lines between DJing and Producing.
2006 Marks the year of Stillwater Records first release. Sweeney
& Stowasser - Contact / Adapted Disorder is a progressive
breaks / house ep that pleases both the mind and the feet, support
from Momu. Second release is Mike Sweeney - Redline / The 6th
which was played by Shiloh on their protonradio show. With 8+
releases lined up for late 2006/2007, Zachary and Stillwater Records
will be making their melodic presence known shortly...

AutoBio:
I first started producing and DJing back in 99’ when I
was still heavy into the San Francisco Bay Area rave scene. I
remember getting out to some awesome events where DJs were playing
pumping, block rocking, intense, non-stopping, let the beat drop
dance music, and needless to say I got inspired to create some
stuff of my own.
Producing started off as a hobby for me but has developed into
a full fledged passion and ultimately lifestyle that keeps me
alive and begging to cut the edge of electronic dance music. By
“cut the edge” I mean that I’m not interested
in repetitive, mind-numbing beats that don’t let you forget
that you are listening to a program. Instead, I make sure that
each audience’s appetite for energy in multiple genres,
and explosiveness in melodic and percussive variation, is satisfied
by a mixing style that provides cohesion and consistency throughout
each respective performance.
In the end my interest is music. It is meant to make you move
but also to make you feel. It is meant to make you think deeply
and at the same time to make you forget everything. While the
music plays, for a series of fleeting moments, you are in my world,
and we move together in mind, body, and spirit.

Bio:
The people that were most influential in starting me off spinning
are my friend Bobby and my brother Mike (who both started spinning
before me and acted as mentors and idols), and my parents, who
are the most open-minded parents I know (even more so than a lot
of people my age)! My parents never told me to turn down my blaring
music and are now even listening to electronica themselves (my
Mom likes Sasha and Tiesto and my Dad likes harder mixes, they both asked
me to get them some CDs for Christmas :-P. There was nothing but
a warm and positive attitude towards my spinning from the beginning.
The group that got me into electronic music back in the day was
The Prodigy. I got their CD, "The Fat of the Land," and it was
all downhill from there. I proceeded into artists like The Chemical
Brothers, The Crystal Method, and Orbital, and from them into
my first trance CDs: Oakie - Tranceport, Miles - Dreamland, Cream
Anthems 2000. However, it wasn't until I heard Magik 6, by the
great dj Tiësto, that I realized that a DJ's set could be so much
more than just a sum of the parts. A DJ has the opportunity to
create a journey of energy and emotion during a set, as well as
the responsibility to keep the crowd dancing and having fun. My
style of music and mixing is influenced a lot by these first electronic
music artists and DJs that I was exposed to; I love a good smooth
melody, but I also like to crank the energy up and really get
the crowd pumping.

Bio:
Blending a unique variety of sounds together over the past seven years, DJ Andrew Westby continues to put his unique stamp on the electronic music landscape. Having warmed the crowds for the likes of Christopher Lawrence (#4 DJ Mag Top 100 in 2006) and Donald Glaude (#69 DJ Mag Top 100 in 2007), Andrew has been complimented for his unique understanding of the party vibe.
Andrew got his first taste of electronic music when he heard the Electric Cafe album by Kraftwerk at the tender age of nine. From that point on his ears gravitated to music infused with electronic and heavy percussive elements. New Wave acts such as New Order, Ah-Ha, The Eurythmics, Thompson Twins, Information Society as well as other acts like Weather Report and UB-40 provided the foundation for Andrew's sonic evolution. Early in 2001 Andrew heard a mix by DJ Jimmy Van M of Bedrock fame which inspired him to take a hands on approach to electronic music. Seven years later the journey continues as Andrew continues to explore a wide realm of musical possibilities. |
